SHA to organize U-16 School Boys Hockey Championship

Sindh Hockey Association (SHA) will organize the Under 16 School boys hockey national championship from 19th to 28 November to be played at Bakht Ali Dhot Hockey stadium, Khairpur.

After the successful showcasing of Under 16 School Championships at district, Regional and Provincial levels, Sindh Hockey Association is now organizing U-16 School boys National Hockey championship 2017 on behalf of Pakistan hockey federation (PHF).

The event will start from Sunday 19th November and closing ceremony will be held on Tuesday 28th November 2017. The championship will be played at Bakht Ali Dhot Hockey stadium, Khairpur.

16 teams are participating in the event. The regional distribution of teams is a follows:

  1. Punjab- 4 teams
  2. Sind- 3 teams
  3. KPK- 3 teams
  4. Baluchistan- 2 teams
  5. Islamabad- 1 team
  6. AJ&K- 1 team
  7. Gilgit-Baltistan- 1 team
  8. FATA- 1 team

Olympian Naveed Alam, director development & domestic PHF is the chief coordinator of the event. The tournament director will hold meeting to brief the officials on November 18.

For the smooth conduct of the championship, the PHF has appointed the following panel of officials:

Organizing Secretary: Ramzan Jamali (Secretary Sindh Hockey Association)
Tournament Director: Syed Abdullah Talat
Assistant Tournament Director: Aijaz Akhtar & Khalid Munir

The Age scrutiny committee will also performing the duties of the selection committee to select probable for the national under 16 camp under the chairmanship of Olympian Qamar Zia. Other members of the committee include the Olympian Naveed Alam & Olympian Aleem Raza.
