Dewa’s Own, Artema Medical takes winning start in Treet Polo Cup 2017
Dewa’s Own and Artema Medical teams won their matches on the opening day of Treet Polo Cup 2017 played at Lahore Polo Club ground.
In the 1st match played between Dewa’s Own and Terra Energy, Dewa’s Own emerged as the winners. With the heroic of Saqib Khan Khakwani, Dewa’s Own defeated Terra Energy by 8-2½ goals. Saqiz hammered double hat-trick for his team while Emran Akhtar and Mumtaz Abbas Naizi contributed a goal each. Terra Energy had a half goal handicap advantage but they only managed to score two goals, one each by Frasat Ali Chatha and Ahmed Bilal Riaz.
Three chukkers were clearly dominated by Dewa’s Own and Saqib played the leading role in this victory. Terra Energy was only able to score goals in 3rd chukker.
In the second match of the day, spectators witnessed thrilling encounter where both the teams Artema Medical and BBJ Pipes scored 9 goals each in four chukkers. The only difference was the half goal handicap which helped Artema Medical to win the nail-biting thriller by 9½-9. Raja Arslan Najeeb hammered 2 hat-tricks for Artema Medical while Omar Asjad Malhi, Daniyal Sheikh and Mir Huzaifa Ahmed contributed a goal each.
BBJ Pipes team also played head to head game and slammed 9 goals but the half goal handicap played the main difference between their victory. With the brilliant 2 hat-tricks, Ahmed Nawaz Tiwana of BBJ Pipes scored 8 goals in total while Abdul Rehman Monnoo hammered 1 goal.
