Exicting day 3 of McDonalds National Junior Tennis Championship concludes
McDonalds National Junior Tennis Championships 2017 enters into semifinal stage as Shimza Tahir, Bismina, Sheeza Sajid and Esha Jawad stars in the Girls under 18 singles played at Pakistan Sports Complex tennis courts Islamabad.
In a thrilling match, Sami Zaib and his partner Subhan bin Salik defeated Musa Ch. & Ilham Khan in the quarterfinal of the doubles under-18 match. Sami and partner won the 1st set by 6-4 but lost focus in the 2nd set to loose it 2-6. In the match tie-break, Sami & Subhan found themselves in hot waters as they were down by 7 to 0 but they came back from behind and equalize the 10-point tie-break to 7-7 with high energy game and motivation that was coupled by some casual shots by the Musa Ch. & Ilham Khan duo. Sami & Subhan then saved 2 match points to finally win the set and match at 11-9 to move into the semifinals where they will face M. Shoaib & Saqib Umer.
In the Girls under-18 Singles, Bismana had to play hard to defeat her opponent Roma Akbar in three sets. Winning score of Bismina remained 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(3). Sheeza Sajid defeated Sadia Qaza in another thrilling match as she won in well contested straight sets by 7-6(5),6-1.
Sami Zaib, Hasheesh Kumar, Hamid Israr and Abdul Hanan got through to the semifinals of the boys under 14 event. All the players defeated their opponents easily in straight sets.
Boys Under 12 second round also decides the winners. Mostly the players won their matches in straight sets.
