Turk Plast to face Amar Cables in the final of Aftab Qarshi Veterans Cricket Championship
Turk Plast defeated Golden Eagles and Amar Cables overcomes Totally Cricket teams to reach the Final of 5th Aftab Qarshi Veterans Cricket Championship played at Cricket Centre Model Town, Lahore. Turk Plast to face Amar Cables in the final of championship on Sunday 12th November 2017.
In 1st Semifinal Turk Plast beats Golden Eagles by 38 runs. Turk Plast won the toss and elected to bat. Turk Plast team scored 243 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in allotted 30 overs. Openers of Turk Plast played beautifully and contributed 121 runs for the 1st wicket partnership. Adnan khan scored 76 runs on 67 balls with 9 boundaries while Muhammad Nawaz scored 59 on 50 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 huge 6’s. No other batsman played a big innings for Turk Plast and they gave a target of 244 runs to Golden Eagles team.
Tajamal Chaudhry picked 2 wickets while Rashid latif, Muhammad Saeed, Shahid Khan and Rauf Wain got 1 wicket each for Golden Eagles.
In reply to 244 runs Golden Eagles team was bowled out on just 205 runs in 27.3 overs. Opener Muhammad Shahbaz scored 45 runs with 2 fours and 3 sixes and Shahid Mansoor played a blinder for his team, he scored 78 runs of just 61 balls with 5 fours and 3 big 6’s.
Kamran Hussain got 3 wickets. Mian Yasir and Nadeem Baig got 2 wickets. Bilal Khalji, Haji Shahid and Ameen Khan got 1 wicket each. Kamran Hussain and Adnan khan of Turk Plast received the joint man of the match award.
In the second semifinal played at Cricket Centre Model Town ground Totally Cricket won the toss and decided to bat first. Totally Cricket team scored 226/7 in 30 overs. Khurram Dar contributed 55 runs two 4’s and 2 sixes and Shiahid Khan played the innings of 59 runs with 7 fours and 1 six. Later on, in the lower order Ameer Ali showed a cameo of 34 runs in just of 18 balls with 2 boundaries and 2 maximums.
Javed khan, Akbar Ali and Rehan Rauf picked 2 wickets each while Shahid Akram got 1.
In reply, Amar Cables chased score of 226 in 29.2 overs for the loss of only 3 wickets and won the match by 7 wickets. Openers Saleem Elahi and Jamshed Salman contributed 128 runs for the 1st wicket partnership.
Jamshed Salman scored 77 runs with 9 boundaries and 2 sixes. He played 51 balls and Saleem Elahi remained not out on 75 runs with the help of 7 fours. Amar Cables scored 230 runs in 29.2 overs. Shahzad butt, Muhammad Nawaz and Zafar Zaidi got 1 wicket each. Jamshed Salman was declared man of the match.
Final of the 5th Aftab Qarshi Veterans Cricket Championship will be played on Sunday, 12 November between Turk Plast and Amar Cables.
