Yasir Shah unveils ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy at Burn Hall College
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy will now reach Lahore and be displayed at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Pakistan’s Test Cricketer Yasir Shah revealed the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 trophy at Burn Hall College, Abbottabad on Friday with the mega event just five weeks away.
The Director, Principal, teachers and students of Burn Hall in large numbers attended the ceremony hosted for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 trophy at the prestigious institute of Pakistan.
In addition to the unveiling of the trophy at Burn Hall College, the T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy was also displayed at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, KP House Shimla Hill, and Shimla Hill Park, where a large number of students and cricket lovers attended the ceremony.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy will now reach Lahore and be displayed at the Gaddafi Stadium during the Pakistan – New Zealand T20I match in the evening today.
After Pakistan the trophy will also journey to emerging cricketing nations like Brazil, Argentina, Canada, and others, aiming to promote greater interest and engagement with the sport.
Pakistan finds itself in Group A alongside arch-rivals India, with their highly anticipated clash scheduled for June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.
Here are the groups for the T20 World Cup 2024:
• Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, United States
• Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman
• Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea
• Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal
With 20 qualifying teams divided into four groups, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 round. From there, the top two teams from each group will proceed to the semi-finals and ultimately compete in the final.
This edition of the T20 World Cup marks the first time since 2010 that the tournament will be hosted in the West Indies, while it also signifies the first time such a major cricket event will be held in the US.
England, as the defending champions of the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, will be aiming to retain their title against stiff competition.
