PCB Appoints Local Coaches for T20I Series Against New Zealand
Mohammad Yousuf and Abdul Razzaq to Lead the Coaching Staff.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has opted to enlist local coaches for the imminent T20I series against the touring New Zealand squad, as per a report by the media.
Former legendary All-Rounder and Batsman Abdul Razzaq and Mohammad Yousuf respectively are poised to join the coaching setup for the series against New Zealand that is to begin on April 18th.
Pakistan will probably secure the services of a new foreign coach before embarking on the tour to Ireland and England for the T20 series, as confirmed by the source.
Meanwhile, Azhar Mahmood, a former all-rounder, has emerged as a prominent contender for the assistant coach role with the Pakistan men’s national team.
Mahmood presently serves as the bowling coach for Islamabad United, champions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He has previously fulfilled the same role for the national side.
It's worth noting that former South African opening Batsman Gary Kirsten and ex-Australian Pacer Jason Gillespie have been chosen by the PCB to serve as the white-ball and red-ball head coaches, respectively, for the national men’s side.
The final decision regarding these appointments will be announced following the completion of all formalities.
