ICC Delegation Arrives in Pakistan to Review Champions Trophy 2025 Arrangements
This Champions Trophy is scheduled for February 2025.
An International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation landed in Pakistan on Monday to assess the preparations for the upcoming Champions Trophy scheduled for February 2025. Led by Senior Manager Sarah Edgar and Manager Aoun Zaidi, the ICC Event Operations team arrived in Karachi to inspect the arrangements for the prestigious tournament.
The delegation's agenda includes a thorough review of the National Stadium in Karachi, where various aspects of the venue's readiness will be assessed. Stadium management will provide detailed briefings on the preparations underway for the Champions Trophy 2025.
Additionally, the ICC delegation is expected to hold meetings with representatives from law enforcement agencies to discuss security arrangements for the tournament. The visit will extend to Lahore and Rawalpindi stadiums in subsequent stages, with ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley, joining the delegation during their inspection in Rawalpindi.
The visit follows the signing of the hosting rights agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the ICC in December last year. Former PCB Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf, accompanied by ICC General Counsel Jonathan Hall, formalized the agreement at the ICC headquarters in Dubai.
