Pakistan to host SA, NZ in First Tri-Series After 20 Years

Pakistan, which last organized a tri-series way back in 2004 involving Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi convened a meeting with Cricket South Africa (CSA) Chairman Lawson Naidoo and New Zealand Cricket (NZC) Chairman Roger Twose in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The point of discussion was the upcoming ODI Tri-series featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa, slated for February 2025 in Pakistan, just before the ICC Champions Trophy. All parties finalized the Tri-series arrangements, which were warmly received by the host and the member boards.


Chairman PCB extended invitations to Roger Twose and Lawson Naidoo to visit Pakistan. Notably, the last tri-series hosted by Pakistan occurred in October 2004, featuring Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe alongside the host nation.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi stated,
“The Tri-series between Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand promises to be a thrilling event. It marks a significant return to Pakistan's hosting of such tournaments after a considerable hiatus. I extend my gratitude to the heads of NZC and CSA for their collaboration. The PCB is also looking forward to hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 which will be a great pleasure for Pakistan to host the top eight ODI teams on its soil.”
