WAPDA Emerges Victorious, Clinching Engro National U20 Volleyball Championship
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Greens secured victory by defeating Pakistan Boards for the third-position match.
In a thrilling final at the indoor hall of the PSB Coaching Center, Pakistan Wapda secured the Engro National U20 Volleyball Championship trophy by defeating Pakistan Air Force 3-0 on Tuesday. The intense match saw Wapda dominating with scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-19.
Member of Provincial Assembly Syed Qasim Ali Shah, along with dignitaries including former Nazim Arbab Asim, Secretary General of Pakistan Volleyball Federation Shah Naeem Zafar, and others, graced the occasion. Syed Qasim Ali Shah distributed prizes to the victorious Wapda team, celebrating their triumph in the championship.
In the battle for the third position, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Greens secured victory by defeating Pakistan Boards 3-2 in a closely contested match with scores of 25-23, 23-25, 21-25, 25-25, and 15-11.
The final match witnessed a capacity crowd, as Wapda displayed dominance by securing a straight-sets victory. The championship, jointly organized by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation and KP Volleyball Association, featured 11 teams, including participants from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Army, Air Force, Wapda, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Khalid Waqar Chamkani, Secretary General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Volleyball Association, announced that the Under-21 players would be selected based on their performance in the Junior Volleyball Championship. These players will undergo training with Brazilian coaches, gearing up to represent Pakistan in the upcoming Asian Championship.
