Tragic Fatality at Prime Minister Youth Talent Hunt Judo Trials
20-Year-Old Fiza Sher Ali Succumbs to Head Injuries.
In a tragic turn of events during the Prime Minister Youth Talent Hunt Judo trials at the BISE Sports Complex in Mardan, 20-year-old Fiza Sher Ali tragically lost her life due to severe head injuries. Vice President of Pakistan Judo Federation, Masood Ahmad, conveyed that the incident occurred during a -44kg contest, where Fiza Sher Ali, a BS first-semester student of Islamia College Peshawar, fell instantly and sustained critical injuries.
Despite immediate intervention by Rescue 1122 officials, who swiftly transported her to Mardan Hospital, Fiza Sher Ali could not survive her injuries. The daughter of Sher Ali from Faisal Colony, Peshawar, Fiza Sher Ali, who was new to the sport, unfortunately, could not control her fall during the contest against a player from Mansehra.
The Judo trials, a part of the Prime Minister Youth Talent Program, witnessed the participation of over 50 female athletes from Peshawar. The incident was promptly confirmed by Rescue 1122 officials, who, following the unfortunate event, promptly shifted the athlete to the hospital, where she was declared deceased by medical professionals. This unforeseen tragedy has cast a somber shadow over the sporting community, emphasizing the need for thorough safety measures in such competitions.
