Akmal, Anjum, and Butt appointed consultant members to Chief Selector
The newly appointed trio will assume their responsibilities in the selection panel immediately.
On December 1, 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the appointment of three former Pakistani players as consultants to the newly appointed chief selector, Wahab Riaz.
The trio, consisting of Kamran Akmal, Rao Iftikhar Anjum, and Salman Butt, will assist Wahab Riaz in the team selection process, officially assuming their roles in the selection panel with immediate effect.
Their initial responsibility as consultant members involves contributing to the selection decisions for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, scheduled to commence on January 12, 2024, following the conclusion of the Test tour to Australia.
Other than assisting in the selection process when not engaged in selection duties, the consultants may be assigned additional tasks such as conducting skills camps.
