Pakistan held to draw by Korea

Pakistan played a draw match 1-1 against defending champions Korea today in the 10th edition of the men Asia Cup hockey tournament at Moulana Bhashani Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium Dhaka.

Pakistan has a very few chances to move further to play the semifinals of the event as they only have left one super 4 match against India now.

Pakistan again started the 1st quarter furiously against Korea where Ijaz Ahmed scored the first goal for Pakistan at the end of 1st quarter in 15th minute. Pakistan played attacking hockey throughout the match but unluckily did not manage to convert the attack into the goals.

In 2nd and 3rd quarter Pakistan kept attacking the Korean goal post but Korean defenders and goalkeeper played impressive game as they stopped many clear goal chances.

At the start of 4th and last quarter Korea started attacking Pakistan goal post and converted a chance into a goal and levels the game 1-1.

Pakistan will play last match on:

21 October 2017    Pakistan Vs India            5:30 PM (pst)


The top two teams from the Round Robin will meet again in the Final on 22 October 2017. The bottom two play for the third position on the same day.

The teams which have finished at the third and fourth spots in Pool A & Pool B will figure in the Classification matches for Fifth to Eighth places.
