Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Cdre Sohail Ahmad Azmie graced the occasion as chief guest. Other dignitaries included Secretary General POA Muhammad Khalid Mehmood, President Handball Federation Muhammad Shafiq, Secretary General PSAF Cdr Akram Tariq, Secretary General Sindh Olympic Association Ahmed Ali Rajput, Chairman Karachi Sports Foundation Asif Azeem, and POA Focal person Olympic Day Tehmina Asif.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest expressed his concerns about worse effects of marine pollution at sea life and emphasized on various corrective measures required to be adopted at government level to ensure marine pollution control. He also appreciated efforts of POA and thanked Secretary General POA Muhammad Khalid Mehmood for organizing various Olympic Day activities at Karachi.
The event was conducted in connection with various Olympic Day activities organized by Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) at Karachi to create awareness about importance of environment protection amongst masses. The players of Pakistan Sailing team, members of Navy Environment Protection Organization and officials from various sports federations actively participated and witnessed the proceedings.
