Malaysia downs Pakistan in Super 4 thriller

Malaysia defeated Pakistan in a nail-biting super 4 match of 10th Asia cup hockey tournament by 3-2 today at Dhaka's Maulana Bhashani Stadium.

Pakistan furiously started the 1st Round Robin game against Malaysia where Umer scored the 1st goal for Pakistan in very first minute of the match. In the first quarter of the match in 10th minute Malaysian RAHIM equalizes the goal at penalty corner.

YAQOOB scored second goal for Pakistan in 19th minute of 2nd quarter and takes the lead once again but again the goal was levelled by SAABAH at 25th minute of second quarter. Pakistan played attacking hockey and tried many attempts on Malaysian goal post but Malaysian Goal keeper Kumar played good game and save many sure goals in the 3rd quarter.

Meanwhile, in a counter attack Malaysian Fitri Saari scored the 3rd goal for his team in the 34th minute of 3rd quarter and takes the lead for the first time on Pakistan. Pakistan again played positive and attacking hockey but unluckily did not convert their attempts to goal in the 3rd and 4th quarter of the match.

Malaysian defenders and goalkeeper played beautifully as they blocked many good attempts of Pakistani forward line and at the end, wins the match by 3-2 in the first Round Robin match.

Pakistan will play next two matches on:

19 October 2017    Pakistan vs South Korea        3:00 PM (pst)
21 October 2017    Pakistan Vs India            5:30 PM (pst)

The top two teams from the Round Robin will meet again in the Final on 22 October 2017. The bottom two play for the third position on the same day. The teams which have finished at the third and fourth spots in Pool A & Pool B will figure in the Classification matches for Fifth to Eighth places.
