Nimra Aqeel emerges Champion of KP Women Squash Championship 2021
Nimra Aqeel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded a stunning victory against top seeded and current Pakistan No.1 in the Under-19 category Komal Khan of WAPDA at KP Women Squash Championship 2021.
KP Squash Association organized KP Women Squash Championship 2021 at Qamar Zaman Squash Complex, Qayyum Stadium, Peshawar from 14-17 June, 2021.
Nimra Aqeel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded a stunning victory against top seeded and current Pakistan No.1 in the Under-19 category Komal Khan of WAPDA.
The final was started on fast tempo and both players gave a tough fight to each other in the first game where Komal raced up and took the lead but Nimra came from behind and tied the tally in second game. Nimra Aqeel with superb nick and drops with slow serve further enhance the lead again. Afterward, Nimra continued her strong backhand smashes raced up to victory in 32 minutes.
Nimra was home with 11-5, 3-11, 4-11, 8-11, 11-9.
Mr Daud Khan, Secretary Higher Education graced the closing ceremony as chief guest and distributed trophies & prizes among the finalists.
The event had the presence of Squash Legend & Vice President Pakistan Squash Federation, Mr Qamar Zaman along with Mohibullah Khan, Mr Amjad Khan, Mr TehsinUllah DSO Peshawar Coaches Mr Munawar Zaman, Mr Waseem Muhammad, Executive Members KP Squash Mr Sajjad Khalil,Mr Wazir Mohammad and Mr Sher Bahadur.
