Pakistan held to draw by Japan

Today’s Favorites Pakistan played a draw match 2-2 against japan today in the 10th edition of the men Asia Cup hockey tournament at Moulana Bhashani Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium Dhaka.

Pakistan started the game aggressively in the 1st quarter but were unsuccessful to score but at the start of 2nd quarter in 16th minute Muhammad Arslan Qadir scored the 1st goal for Pakistan and took the lead. The lead was equalized by Japan’s TANAKA Kenta in 22nd minute of 2nd quarter.

Japan took the lead just before the end of 2nd quarter where YOSHIHARA Heita scored the goal in 29th minute.

In the 3rd quarter Japan kept pressurizing Pakistan and targeted the goal post many times but Pakistan defenders and goal keeper played brilliant game and saved some good attempts of Japan’s forward line.

Pakistan showed some good stick work from the start of 4th quarter and equalized the goal when Muhammad Umer Boota scored his 1st goal. Pakistan strongly came back from behind and attacked on the Japanese post quit a good times but japan survived the final quarter and managed to draw the game 2-2.

Pakistan will play much anticipated last of its pool match of Asia cup against the Archrivals India on Sunday 15th October at 4:30(pst).
