PCB announces squad for Hong Kong World Sixes 2017
Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a seven member squad along with 2 reserve players for Hong Kong world sixes starting from October 26 to October 29, 2017 at Kowloon Cricket Club.
The teams confirmed for the tournament so far are the hosts Hong Kong, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Srilanka, Bangladesh and South Africa. It is going to be historical event with the participation of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) for the first time as the initiative to promote cricket in China.
The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes was an annual international cricket tournament held at the Kowloon Cricket Club comprising between eight and twelve teams. Last event of HK super sixes was conducted in 2012 and after the absence of 5 years now the cricket association of Hong Kong is taking initiative to revive the tournament. The event will take place at the Kowloon Cricket Club, Hong Kong.
Pakistan and England have won 5 tournaments each, the most by any team while South Africa have won 4 tournaments. Australia, Sri lanka, West Indies and India won 1 tournament each. South Africa was the winner of last tournament played in 2012 while Pakistan was runner-up of same event.
The national selection committee headed by Inzimam ul haq has announced the team and selected left-Arm Fast bowler Sohail Tanveer as Captain.
