LHC orders PCB not to finalise club registration process till 28 April
High Court’s Multan bench has ordered the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) not to finalise the club registration process under its new constitution implemented on Aug 19, 2019, till the next date of the case set for April 28.
After a gap of almost 19 months the PCB has started the process of registering clubs across the country as the domestic structure remained suspended during this period. Still no one knows exactly when the process of clubs’ registration and their scrutiny will be completed.
The clubs are facing problems and they needed clarity about the registration process.
Moreover, High Court’s Multan bench has ordered the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) not to finalize the club registration process under its new constitution applied on Aug 19, 2019, till the next date of the case set for April 28.
Justice LHC Muzammil Akhtar Shabir in its order said:
“The petitioner [M. Sadiq] challenged vires of the new constitution of the Pakistan Cricket Board and stated, Notice for the aforesaid date that impugned notification dated 19.8.2019 regarding its enforcement is not sustainable in the eye of law. 2. Let notice be issued to the respondents to file a report and para-wise comments for 28.4.2021,” read the order.
“Notice for the aforesaid date. Subject to notice, the matter arising out of impugned notice dated 22.3.2021 may proceed further, but shall not be finalised till the next date of hearing,”
