Tournament favorites, Pakistan team qualifies for Gladiators WESPA Youth Cup 2021 quarterfinals
Pakistan made their first appearance at Gladiators WESPA Youth Cup 2021 and made it to the quarterfinals and can finish at the top in group A if they win against HongKong today (25th January).
The Gladiators WESPA Youth Cup gathered pace with 12 matches played on the second day of World Youth Scrabble Championship 2021.
The championship formerly called the World Youth Scrabble Championship is being played online for the first time and being organized by Pakistan. 96 players from 16 countries across five continents are taking part.
Teams are divided into four pool of fours teams each. As per the format each six players from one country will play individually against each of the six players from the opponent team on round robin league basis

Pakistan made their first appearance and made their intentions clear with a convincing win against Philippines by a 31-5 margin. Pakistan were ruthless in their second match of the day beating Romania 36-0. Syed Imaad Ali and Hasham Hadi remained unbeaten throughout the day with 12-0 record each. Imaad made the highest game score of 687 for Pakistan so far while Hasham recorded 600 plus scores in three consecutive games
Pakistan has already qualified for the quarter finals and can finish at the top in group A if they win against HongKong today (25th January).
The most exciting match of the day was between Singapore and UK; both team tied at 18-18 wins while Malaysia narrowly defeated USA by 18.5-17.5 margin.
Pakistan is considered one of the favorite teams to win the championship.
Another ten matches are scheduled today (25th January) after which the first round will be completed and the quarter final berths will be decided.
