In just 27 minutes, Aqeel, the longest serving No 1 player, easily trounced Waqas Malik with the final score line of 6-2,6-2. In other matches, Mohammad Shoaib defeated Ahmad Kamil, Mudassar Murtaza had easy sailing against Abdaal Haider and Shahzad Khan laboured hard against Ahmed Chaudhry.
In the ladies singles event, top seeds Ushna Sohail and Sarah Mehboob, Noor Malik, Esha Jawad,Maha Saeed registered victories.
