Ahmed Choudhry & Barkat ullah qualifies for PTF-ITA Islamabad Super Cup 2020

Two qualifying matches of men’s singles category were played on an opening day of PTF-ITA Islamabad Super Cup 2020 at the PTF Complex, Islamabad.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) and Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) are jointly organizing the national ranking PTF-ITF Islamabad Super Cup at the PTF Complex, Islamabad.

Two qualifying matches of men’s singles category were played on an opening day of PTF-ITA Islamabad Super Cup 2020 at the PTF Complex, Islamabad.

A major upset light up the men’s singles draw as wildcard entrant Barkat ullah after losing the first set came back strongly to outset Pakistan no.8 Yousaf Khalil in a thrilling qualifying round of Men’s singles. Barkatullah was home 6-7(7), 7-5, 7-6(3).

Pakistan no.7 Ahmed Choudhry body language made him plight plain and he did not take much pressure by entering the court to accomplish the task of playing tennis against U-18 top ranked player & wild card entrant Muhamamd Shoaib where Ahmed played very attacking game to win 7-5, 6-4 in the second qualifying round of men’s singles.

The main draw matches will start on today (Friday) wherein the top-ranked players will be seen in action.

Men’s Singles Main Draw:

  • Aqeel Khan vs. Mudassir Murtaza
  • Ahmed Chaudhary vs. Heera Ashiq,
  • Shahzad Khan vs. Muhammad Abid,
  • Barkatullah vs. Muzammil Murtaza

Junior’s Singles Main Draw:

  • Faizan Fayyaz Khan vs. Zalan Khan,
  • Nalain Abbas vs. M. Huzaifa Khan,
  • Sami Zeb vs. Aqib Hayat,
  • Subhan Salik vs. Hamid Israr

Tariq Murtaza, President of ITA and Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority will inaugurate the PTF -ITA Islamabad Super Cup on today (Friday) at 11:00 AM.

The winner of the men’s singles will get Rs75,000 while runner-up will be awarded Rs40,000, however the losing semi-finalists will bag Rs15,000 each.

Also the winner of women’s singles will receive Rs50,000 and the runner-up will pocket Rs30,000 while the losing semi-finalists will pocket Rs10,000 each. Gifts worth Rs25,000 will be distributed among the juniors.
