Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed XI wins Defence Day Basketball Tournament opener
The boys of Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed IX teams earned a hard fought victory over Major Mohammad Akram Shaheed XI in the opening match of Defence Day Basketball tournament, which is being played at the Arambagh-Abdul Nasir courts, Karachi.
The Karachi Basketball Association has organized Defence Day SSB Cup Basketball Tournament for the basketball lovers of the city of lights: Karachi, which is being played at the Arambagh-Abdul Nasir courts.
In the opening match of the tournament, Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed XI and Major Mohammad Akram Shaheed XI were seen fighting in which the boys of Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed IX earned a hard fought victory with the final score of 49-43 points.
For the champions, Hamza Khwaja (16 points), Hasan Iqbal (12 points), Humayoun Aslam (10 points) and Faizan Yousuf (8 points) were the main scorers.
While the opponent team players were seen performing with their good skill set, they kept losing their game as the match proceeded to which Zainul Abideen, Nofil Ali and Shariq Waseem tried their best with their valuable 14, 12 and 10 points respectively.
The final of the weeklong tournament will be played on Sept 13.
Chief guest Deputy Commissioner Syed Salahuddin Ahmed paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the country for their sacrifices.
He unveiled that the next PAF basketball tournament will also see top arrangements and leading teams will be competing in it.
