AFP decided to send Premier javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem Kazakhstan for training
Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) has decided to send the country’s premier javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem to Kazakhstan in order to prepare him for next year’s Tokyo Olympics.
The athlete from Mian Chunu, Khanewal, Arshad, Arshad stole the limelight when he wrote history for Pakistan by blasting his way into the Olympics with an 86.29m throw at the 13thSouth Asian Games in Nepal last year.
Now, Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) has decided to send the country’s premier javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem to Kazakhstan in order to prepare him for next year’s Tokyo Olympics.
Finland and Kazakhstan were the two probable destinations for Arshad before the lockdown. And eventually Kazakhstan had been chosen because in javelin throw Kazakhstan has been legitimately worthy and the coach who will be training Arshad is a world championship silver medalist.
“We have finalised that Arshad will get training under the most luxuriant coach Viktor Yevsyukov of Kazakhstan, and as soon as flights resume we will send Arshad, hope so in October,” AFP president Major General (retd) Akram Sahi told ‘The News’.
There are good training prospects in Kazakhstan,as their coach Viktor Aleksandrovich Yevsyukov is working hard with his players. He is a renowned coach and it will be great if we are able to have a deal with them.
Coach Viktor Yevsyukov, a Kazakh, won bronze in javelin throw in 1986 European Championship in Germany, won silver in the 1987 Italy World Championship and got fifth position in 1988 Seoul Olympics.
AFP also intends to send Arshad’s Coach Fayyaz Bukhari with him to Kazakhstan.
During his stay at Kazakhstan Arshad will also be fielded in a number of events in Central Asia and Middle East.
