Babar Azam fail to make much of an impression as captain, Pakistan’s batting coach and former captain of the Pakistan national cricket team, Younis Khan has encouraged Babar to stamp his authority on the white-ball teams.
Younis, who resigned as the nation's driving run-getter in Test cricket with 10,099 runs from 118 matches has expressed that the youthful captain needs to shut out the clamor of people around him and decide his own way as the leader of Pakistan.
Younis saw that while those attempting to help have good intentions, the constant stream of advice and recommendations can be overwhelming.
“It can get hard for a captain when he is getting so much advice and also suggestions on the field as well. Regardless of whether the proposals are originating from off the field or from inside the field, it's intended for the improvement of the team,” Younis said.
“My recommendation to Babar is that as a leader is to try and take your own decisions; He should not be afraid of taking his decisions, even if they are inaccurate in light of the fact that you can generally gain from those missteps” he added.
