Army to provide grant of Rs.50 Million to PHF for game’s uplift: Qamar Javed Bajwa
The Pakistan Army has announced to provide a grant of Rs.50 million to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for the raise of the national game.
Pakistan was once viewed as a hockey monster, yet the morals of the game saw an enormous decrease during the most recent twenty years.
The national team, which flaunts three Olympic gold medals and four World Cups, couldn't meet all requirements during the current year's Tokyo Olympics which were deferred for one year from now due to Covid-19.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has stated that PHF would be given the amount of Rs. 50 Million out of the Army’s Welfare Fund, to support the game.
“PHF president retired Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar called on the COAS and during the meeting, COAS pledged Rs 50 million out of Army’s Welfare Fund for PHF,” a press release issued by ISPR stated.
As per ISPR, Army has just made two Astroturf Stadiums accessible to PHF in Rawalpindi and Okara.
