Basim Ali, Ibrahim Saad wins Independence Day Tennis Tournament titles
Talented Basim Ali defeated Usama Saeed in the men’s singles event to bag the title of Independence Day Tennis at Union Club, Karachi.
Sindh Tennis Association in collaboration with Sports for Life and major support from Union Club has organized Independence Day Tennis Competition and tree plantation at Union Club, Karachi.
Talented Basim Ali defeated Usama Saeed 10-4 (super tie break) in the men’s singles event to bag the title of Independence Day Tennis. In under-12 singles, Ibrahim Saad beat Almir Jan 10-6.
Ahmed Ali Rajput and Ms Tehmina Asif were chief guests for tennis event and plantation respectively, Far Plantation a large number of Sports and Social Personalities of City graced the occasion.
Vice President Pakistan Tennis Federation, Muhammad Khalid Rehmani has proposed that since POA has created Environment Commission recently, we all Sports NGO and Associations should compulsorily plant a tree on the opening or closing day of all of our local or national Events. POA should introduce SOP's for all national Federations to implement mandatory plantation for each and every national event.
He included that 40 Plus Federations on average organize 200 plus national events. Similarly, at provincial and City level thousands of events being held every year. The sports organization can easily create an environment-friendly culture in the country. All provincial Sports Association should introduce a section of Environment Betterment in their folds.
He delightedly informed that Sindh Tennis Association has taken immediate step to hold a tennis competition soon as Lockdown restrictions are lifted. Rehmani added that two National and two Sindh Ranking Tennis Championships are already matured and would be held in September –October, and KCSA Beach Games and Wheelchair Tennis Coaching Camps are also in pipeline
