2020 World Rugby Sevens Series canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic
World Rugby chairman Sir Bill Beaumont has announced that the 2020 World Rugby Sevens Series is officially over, due to coronavirus pandemic.
The 2020 World Rugby Sevens Series has been cancelled over the coronavirus.
World Rugby chairman Sir Bill Beaumont said the decision was made in consultation with various public health agencies around the world.
"While it is extremely disappointing for players, fans, organizers and everyone involved to have to cancel this event due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the health and well-being of the rugby community and wider society remains the number one priority", Bill Beaumont said.
