Pakistan cricket team landed in Manchester without 10 COVID-19 positive players
The Pakistan cricket team have reached in England for their tour of England for a three-Test and three T20I series to be played in August and September.
Captained by Azhar Ali, the Pakistan cricket squad have landed in Manchester for the three-Test series against England begins at Old Trafford.
Now, the Pakistan cricket team will be transported to Worcestershire where they will undergo testing. The visitors will then be isolated for 14 days.
Even before they left for England, the Pakistan team had been hit with a few of their players testing positive for Coronavirus.
Mohammad Hasnain, Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Hafeez and Wahab Riaz have been the ones testing positive and they will have to test negative to nurse hopes of joining the side. To add to that, other Pakistan cricketers--- Kashif Bhatti, Haris Rauf, Haider Ali and Imran Khan ---have tested positive again for Coronavirus.
Wasim Khan, the chief executive of PCB, via a statement, said:
"These players were asymptomatic, which means their chances of regaining complete fitness are higher and brighter than most. As soon as these players test negative twice through the PCB testing process they will be flown to England to join the squad."
Taking to Twitter, Babar Azam, the skipper of Pakistan's white-ball team said:
"On our way to another historic Pakistan tour to England. Its always great to play in England and I look forward to getting on this journey with our talented bunch of players. Fans, as always we would be in need of your prayers, love, and unconditional support. #PAKvENG #RiseAndRise."
