PJJF holds online National Anti-doping seminar

According to a press release issued by the PJJF, the experts for the webinar included Dr Ucksy Mallick, the member of the JJAU anti-doping committee, president of the Sports Medicine Association of Pakistan and executive member of the Asian Federation of Sports Medicine (AFSM), and Dr Warda Hameed, the member of the JJAU medical committee and PJJF executive member.
Dr Mallick’s presentation during the session was on the topics of the doping control process, hazards of doping, therapeutic use exemption (TUE) and side effects of the usage of prohibited substances and methods.
A question-answer session followed the webinar during which queries from all those attending, which included PJJF officials, coaches and senior athletes, representatives from Pakistan Army, Wapda, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Police, provincial associations and other PJJF-affiliated units were addressed.
Tariq Ali, the PJJF associate secretary who hosted the session, emphasised that sharing this vital anti-doping knowledge at grass roots level was of utmost importance.
PJJF president Khalil Ahmed Khan, in his comments after the webinar, stressed upon the ‘Clean Ju-Jitsu’ policy of the PJJF while extending thanks to the experts and participants. He warned that any official, athlete or department affiliated with the PJJF found digressing from this strict policy would be immediately suspended from the federation.
