Wapda with eight gold medals, one silver and 180 points won the National Karate Championships
Wapda with eight gold medals, one silver and 180 points won the National Karate Championships here on Thursday.
Army claimed the second spot with 115 points.
They earned one gold medal besides two silver and four bronze medals.
KP grabbed the third position with 45 points, having claimed only one gold and silver each with two bronze medals. Balochistan came fourth with 45 points and Sindh remained 6th with 35 points.
Railways secured the 7th place with 20 points.
Punjab displayed poor performance coming at the 8th position with 15 points, followed by Fata and Islamabad.

Above 84kg: M. Ramzan (Wapda), Omeed Ullah (Balochistan), Adnan Akram (Army), Aqeel Ahmed Jamil (Police).
Below 84kg: Baz Mohammad (Wapda), Imtiaz Ahmed (Army), Shafiq-Ur-Rehman (Fata), Hameed Siddiqi (Balochistan).
Below 75kg: Shouket Ali (Wapda), Faheem Haider (Army), Abdul Rehman (police) and Hamid Bakhtyiar (Sindh).
Below 67kg: Naseer Ahmad (Wapda) Saweel Fayyaz (Punjab), M. Shoaib (Army) Israr Ahmad (KP).
Below 60kg: Zafar Iqbal (Wapda), Waqar Khan (Railways), Abu Zar Naseer (Police), Shahbaz Khan (Sindh).
Team kumite: Wapda (Naseer Ahmad, Zafar Iqbal, Ain-ul-Din Khan, Baz Mohammad, M Ramzan, and Kashif Aslam); Army (Abu Zar Nazir, Imtiaz Ali, M. Shoaib, Faheem Haider, Adnan Akram, Hussain Ahmed); Balochistan and KP won bronze medals.
