15th National Women Softball postponed: Asif Azeem
The 15th edition of Women’s Softball Championship, which was to be held in Karachi next month, has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Softball Federation of Pakistan’s Secretary-General Asif Azeem announced that the 15th National Women’s Softball Championship, which was to be held in Karachi next month, has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
In a statement, he said as soon as the conditions become favorable, new dates for the national championship will be announced.
Asif said the preparations to hold the championship were almost complete by the Sindh Women Softball Association which was to host the National Women’s Championship.
The SFP Secretary General also disclosed that the first Asia Baseball 5 Tournament, which was to be held in Malaysia under the auspices of World Baseball Softball Confederation next month, has also been rescheduled and would be held from June 25-28 in Kuala Lumpur.
Asif further said that the joint project of SFP, Japanese Consulate Karachi and Sindh Softball Association’s dubbed as “Tokyo Olympic 2020 ka Safar Softball Ke Sang” has also been postponed while the new dates for Olympic Solidarity International Softball Coaching Course would also be announced later after consultation with Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and World Baseball Softball Confederation.
