Two more matches decided in 3rd Dr Muhammad Ali Shah Memorial Basketball Tournament
Arambagh Basketball Club easily overcame Karachi Bulls 52-45 on the third day of ongoing 3rd Dr Muhammad Ali Shah Memorial Basketball tournament being organized by Karachi Basketball Association at Abdul Nasir basketball courts, Arambagh.
Two more matches were played on the third day during the ongoing 3rd Dr Muhammad Ali Shah Memorial Basketball tournament being organized by Karachi Basketball Association at Abdul Nasir basketball courts, Arambagh.
In the first match of the day, Arambagh Basketball Club easily overcame Karachi Bulls 52-45. Main scorers for the winners were Shariq Suleman 24 points, while Hassan Ali and Munibur Rehman scored 12 and 10 points respectively.
For the losing side, Muhammad Ibrahim scored 18 points while M Haider and Muhammad Ali scored 12 and 10 points respectivley.In the second match of the day, Patrician Stars beat National Basketball Club 45-40 in a close contest.
Scorers for the winners Steven Fernandez (15 points) and Richards (12 points).Scorers for the losing side were Zaid (14 points), Muaz (12 points) and Moinuddin (10 points).
Earlier, on Saturday, Arambagh Club easily overcame Falcon Club 49-43. Scorers for the winners were Shariq Suleman (15 points), Hassan Ali (12 points).
For the losing side, Sheheryar Nasir scored 15 points while M Sabih and Salman Khan scored 13 points each.
In the second match Usman Club beat National Basketball Club 41-37 in a close contest. Scorers for the winners Humayun Aslam 12 points while Hamza Yousuf and Faizan scored 11 and 10 points respectively. Scorers for the losing side were Haaris and Muhammad Amin who scored 10 points each while M Muaz scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, the Karachi Basketball Association has announced that as per the directives of the Sindh Govt to suspend all sports and cultural activities in view of the growing coronavirus threat, all basketball activities will remain suspended until April 5, 2020.
Therefore, the remaining matches of the ongoing 3rd Dr Muhammad Ali Shah Memorial Basketball tournament will now be held after April 5.
The KBBA further said that the girl's basketball coaching camp, which was to commence from Monday, has also been called off and the female players reporting on the first day of the camp have been sent back after being informed of the camp postponement.
