Chess Association of Punjab (CAP) has announced that the Punjab Qualifying Fide Rated Chess Championship 2020 has been postponed due to some unforeseen reasons.
Chess Association of Punjab (CAP) has announced that the Punjab Qualifying Fide Rated Chess Championship 2020 has been postponed due to some unforeseen reasons.
The championship was supposed to take place form 13-15th March at Pakistan Sports Board Coaching Centre near Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
All the other details remain the same as the mega Archery event is being held in collaboration with Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) and under the Umbrella of Asian Chess Federation (ACF) and World Chess Federation (FIDE).
Top 10 players of the championship from each category shall qualify to represent Punjab in 32nd National Chess Championship 2020.
Participation:
All the participants, with no exemption, must be registered member of Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) and must have Fide ID number to take part in the competition.
Entry Fee: PKR 1,000/- Only
Time Control & System of Play:
The Championship shall be played according to swiss league system with 07 rounds. The time control will be 60 minutes with a 30 seconds increment for every move played starting from the move one. The Championship shall be rated by World Chess Federation (FIDE).
Accommodation:
All official/ invited players shall be provided free accommodation at Pakistan Sports Board Coaching Centre Lahore from 13th March (day of arrival) to 15th March (day of departure) 2020.

Competition Rules:
1. Any player who will not arrive at his board 40 minutes after the start of the session shall lose the game.
2. To maintain the score sheet is mandatory.
3. Players cannot leave the playing hall without the permission of the Chief Arbiter.
4. Mobile phones or any electronic device in the playing hall in any case shall not be allowed.

Open entrants can pay entry fee though following moods till 13th March.
(Players who are not registered with Chess Federation of Pakistan (don’t have Fide ID). In case of new registration, a copy of CNIC/ Passport or B-form must be submitted along with the fee).
