Pakistan-Slovenia Davis Cup tie: Aqeel Khan win against Blaz Kavcic, makes it 2-nil

World No. 574 Blaz Kavcic, running on adrenaline he made a great start, capitalising on too many Aqeel’s errors to win the opener with an impressive 6-0.
Pakistani ace has a habit of producing his best tennis when on Davis Cup duty as he came back strongly where he had to fight off three break points in the opening game of set two. Both the players held their serves and the set moved into tie break 6-6.
On the tie-break, Blaz won the first two points but Aqeel won back to back 4 point to make it 4-2 and broke the very next serve of Blaz to further enhance his lead. Blaz leveled the score at 4 - 4 and set two match point but Aqeel with an excellent variety in the shots managed to win the set 8 – 6.
40-year-old Aqeel khan broke the opening serve of Blaz in the third set and then both hold their serves. With some luck and huge support for the Pakistani ace, Aqeel showed all his experience to fight back furiously and won the set and the match to make it 2-0 for Pakistan against Slovenia.
The final score line was 6-0, 7-6(6), 6-4.
The third rubber will be played between Pakistani duo of Aisam ul Haq & Aqeel Khan and Slovenian player Blaz Kavcic & Tom Kocevar-Desman today at 3:30 PM.
Earlier, Lahore-born tennis star Aisam ul Haq defeated Slovenia’s left handed Nik Rozborsek by 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(1). The match lasted for 2 hour 25 minutes.
