Hamza excels in World Schools Badminton
M Hamza became the first ever student of Kahuta Model College (KMC) for Boys KRL, who made history by representing Pakistan in World Schools Badminton Championship 2016 at Gzira, Malta under the auspices of International Schools Sports Federation (ISF).

Hamza, the emerging badminton player the student of 10th class at KMC belongs to an unknown Tehsil Kahuta, played his first international single match against Turkey and lost but later on, he played the wining role against Brazil and Slovak in doubles pairing with Ahmer Jalal. Talking to The Nation on Monday, Hamza said: “I am grateful to KRL sports department, which provided me the opportunity to learn badminton from the international badminton coach Raziuddin Ahmad, who completely transformed me and made me a better player, which resulted in my selection for the highly prestigious international event.”
The contingent of Pakistan Schools Sports Federation (PSSF), who participated in the World Schools Badminton Championship 2016, was consist of PSSF president and BISE Rawalpindi Director Sports Imtiaz Ahmad Chattha, who was also head of delegation, international coach Raziuddin Ahmad, physio Dr Qaiser Hanif, referee Adnan Shahzad, captain M Hamza and members Ahmer Jalal, M Umar Rana, Saqlian Haider and M Moin.
As many as 24 countries took part in the world championship and Pakistan finished at 9th in the selected boys category. Chinese Taipei won the championship, while China and India finished second and third respectively. KRL sport department applauded the services of international badminton coach Raziuddin Ahmad, whose efforts enabled M Hamza of KMC to achieve the honour to be the first international player of the school.
