Unseeded Ahmed Sobhy put a shiny start as he won the opening game at 11-8.
15-year-old squash star from Peshawar came back strongly as he played some of his best squash to win next two games and boasted a 2-1 lead. After a closely-contested beginning to the fourth, Ahmed soon took control to level the scores with an 11-8 victory.
Grandson of squash legend Qamar Zaman, Noor Zaman, responded well in the last game as World no.315, started to push Ahmed into all four corners of the court to win the game and the match by 3-2.
The final score line was 8-11, 11-7, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9.
Now, Noor is up against fourth seeded Khaled Labib of Egypt in the quarterfinal.
In August 2019, Noor Zaman started his career’s first PSA event which was named $10,000 Pakistan Squash Circuit-I.
The CIB Egyptain Tour 4 2020 carries a prize money of $6,000 for Men and same for women.
