MPCL beats FFC to clinch Oil and Gas T20 title
Mari Petroleum Company Limited defeated Fauji Fertilizer Company to clinch the title of Oil and Gas T20 Championship at Diamond Cricket Ground, Islamabad.
Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) were crowned Oil & Gas T20 champions after defeating Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) by a convincing 53-run margin at Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad.
Batting first, MPCL put 152 runs on the board as Shehryar Firdous stroked an impressive 42 while Shahid scored 24 runs.
Tauseef Ijaz and Waqas took three wickets each for FFC.
While chasing, FFC folded for 99 in 17 overs as Irfan Nazir, Majid Ali and Usman Nazir tore through a fragile FFC batting lienup.
Irfan, who was declared the man of the match, was particularly impressive, taking four wickets for 19 runs.
Top 12 teams of oil and gas sector participated in the two-month championship played on round robin format.
Yasir Abbas of POL was declared the best batsman, while Sheraz Sarwar of APL bagged the man of the tournament award.
Lt Gen Ishfaq Nadeem Ahmed (Retd), MD/CEO MPCL, who was chief guest on the occasion and gave away prizes to the finalists and the glittering trophy to MPCL.
