Second seed Tayyab Aslam sweat for over 34 minutes to overcome qualifier Waqas Mehboob straight to sneak into the quarter-finals of the sixth Parco Roshan Khan Open Squash Championship at the PAFMuseum on Monday.
Ranked 75th in the world, Tayyab had a tough time before prevailing over his opponent 11-9, 11-4, 13-11.
Four matches of the first round were played at the PN Roshan - Jahangir Squash Complex on Monday while the remaining four were moved to the PAF Museum.
In the opening session, Mohammad Farhan upset eight seed Abbas Maniar 11-8, 11-7, 11-9 to cruise into the last eight.
In the other three matches, Zahir Shah was home 11-8, 11-7, 3-11, 11-8 over Mohammad Naeem, Asim Khan struggled to beat Amaad fareed 15-13, 11-2, 7-11, 11-9 while Israr Ahmed got the better of Bilal Zakir 11-9, 11-9, 11-7.
At the time of filing this report, three matches were in progress at the PAF Museum.
