Ten-handicapper Farid Malik won the one-day Pakistan Segment of the World Golf Cup at the Royal Palm Golf course here on Monday.
The competition was fought out over 18 holes on Singles Stableford format with 98 competitors eyeing a trip to Turkey along with the honour of participation in the World Cup Amateur Golf to be held in Turkey in October.
Using the handicap to gain a tactical advantage over his superior rivals, Farid emerged the net winner with 38 points, two ahead of closest challenger Faisal Ali Malik and Imran Chaudhry who also finished with 36.
Omer Salamat won the gross title, Hussain Hamid was the net winner in the 0-12 handicap with Abdul Rauf taking the victory in the 3-18 handicap while the nearest to the pin prize went to Asad Agha.
