Talented Pakistani tennis players Ahmed Kamil and Mohammad Shoaib advanced to the semi-finals of the Tajammul & Dilawar Abbas Memorial ITF Pakistan Junior Tennis Championship after outclassing Chinese Taipei duo of Chang Huang and Chun Tang in straight sets at PTF Complex, Islamabad.
Ahmed, meanwhile, also reached the quarter-finals of the boys’ singles event after overcoming Russian Nikta Bortnichek in a thrilling three-setter. Wild Card entrant Kerem Ozlale and Tuna Nergizoglue from Turkey, and Aryan Giri from Nepal also moved into the final eight.
Hong Kong’s Hannah Kaile Shen caused the biggest upset of the tournament, ousting second-seeded Iranian Dorasa Cheraghi in a contest that lasted an hour and 45 minutes to reach the girls’ singles semi-finals.
