Landhi Friends, Faisal Gymkhana register victories in Prof. Ejaz memorial tournament

Landhi Friends and Faisal Gymkhana restricted their oppositions to seal victories by 76 and 152 runs respectively as Prof. Ejaz Ahmed Farooqi invitational cricket tournament continued at various grounds in Karachi.

Zohaib Idrees, Maez Waqar and Zain Anwar gave highlight worthy performances as two mores matches of the All-Karachi Prof Ejaz Ahmed Farooqi Invitation Cricket Tournament were decided in Karachi. 

Landhi Friends on backs of Zohaib and Maez sealed a 76-run victory against Tuba Sports at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground.

Zohaib, an up-and-coming opening batsman, scored 103 off 120 balls with the aid of six boundaries while Nabeel Wahid made 69 (six fours and a six) to help Landhi Friends post 243-7 in their stipulated 45 overs.

Tuba Sports in reply ran into the off-spinner Maez who returned astounding figures of six wickets for seven runs in 6.1 overs to dismiss them for 167 in the 39th over. Former first-class player Afsar Nawaz offered lone resistance by scoring 75 (six fours and one six).

In the days other game, Zain starred for Faisalabad Gymkhana’s as the sealed a clinical 152-run rout of Shaheen Gymkhana at the TMC Ground.

Zain hit 105 off just 73-balls with 14 fours and one six. His teammate Imran shah hit 12 fours and one six in making 84 as Faisal Gymkhana collected 335-8. 

Shaheen Gymkhana could get to 183 in the 38 overs before being bowled out to concede the game.
