Tehsil Shabqadar win U-21 Inter-Tehsil Games Charsadda
Tehsil Shabqadar clinched the U-21 Inter-Tehsil Games Charsadda trophy after securing three gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals in Charsadda District.
The Inter-Tehsil Games concluded successfully in Charsadda District where Tehsil Shabqadar clinched the trophy after securing three gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals, Charsadda took two gold and four silver medal and Tangi Tehsil grabbed one gold and four bronze medals by taking second and third position respectively.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Habibur Rehman, Assistant Commissioner Tangi Adnan Jamil, District Sports Officer Tehsin Ullah Khan graced the occasion as guest and gave away trophies, medals and cash prizes. The winners in all games were awarded Rs. 20,000, runners-up 15000 and third position got Rs. 10,000 respectively.
A total of 300 players took part in six different games at Tehsil level wherein a contingent from Tehsil Shabqadar, Tangi and Charsadda took part.
In the football final Charsadda defeated Shabqadar by 3-0 while in Badminton, Charsadda defeated Shabqadar by 3-1 as well as Charsadda won the athletics title while Tangi took second and Shabqadar took third position.
Shabqadar won the thrilling final of the volleyball against Charsadda 3-1, with the final score line of 25-22, 25-19, 27-27 and 25-23. Tehsil Tangi won the first position by defeating Charsadda 2-0, Shabqadar defeated Charsadda Tehsil 34 Kabadis in Kabaddi.
The competitions were held at the Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex in which hundreds of players participated in various competitions. The purpose of holding these competitions is to find the best new talent at Tehsil level.
It is indeed a great move of the Directorate of Sports KP by involving 26000 players including a good number of women in 32 male and 27 female games, Additional Deputy Commissioner Habib-ur-Rehman in his speech said during the presentation ceremony. He also lauded the efforts of the District Sports Officer and former TOs Tehsin Ullah Khan.
He said that Directorate of Sports has taken great move that will give young players opportunities to showcase their skills as well as reach to the main pool of selection at national and international levels.
