Waseem likely to postpone his March fight
Mohammad Waseem's fight scheduled for March 6 is likely to be postponed due to lack of required training.
Pakistan’s renowned professional boxer Mohammad Waseem is not likely to make his March 6 fight due to lack of required training.
The 2014 Incheon Asian Games bronze medalist has encountered problems in moving to Glasgow for training due to delay in his Spanish visa he had applied for.
Having just gotten his passport back, there is very limited time left to train for the scheduled Dubai bout.
With a seven to eight weeks period required to train for the fight, it is almost impossible for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games silver medalist to fight on the scheduled date.
Waseem had opted to apply for Spain visa because he wanted to undergo training in Madrid but as of now is still in Islamabad.
The former two-time flyweight world silver champion defeated highly experienced Ganigan Lopez of Mexico in Dubai on November 22 last year and knocked out Conrado Tenamor of the Philippines on September 13, also in Dubai. Waseem holds IBF World No.5 ranking.
He has so far, hit the ring 11 bouts, winning ten and losing only one.
