PCB's domestic revamp continues with ninety cricket associations to be formed under regions

Pakistan Cricket Board continues to revamp the domestic cricketing structure this time by forming further ninety cricket association under the established six regions.

Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) second phase of domestic structure revamp is set to continue with as many as 90 cricket associations forming under the already established six regions of Sindh, Central Punjab, Southern Punjab, Northern, Baloch­istan and Khyber Pakhtunkha. 

Department dealing with domestic cricket affairs is set to have drafted plans for formation of 19 cricket associations in KP followed by 17 in Sindh, 16 in Central Punjab, 14 in Southern Punjab, 13 in Balochistan and 11 city cricket associations in the Northern region. 

The proposal also chalks out administrative structures for running the affairs of the formed cricket associations.

A nine member committee will oversee the affairs of the region. Three members will be nominated by the PCB, three members will be inducted from the elected general body while a couple of representatives from principal sponsors will also be included in the regional management committee.

The presidential candidate will be nominated by the PCB, sponsors and the general body and after the elections, the president will become part of the managing committee.

The selection committee along with Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer will also be apportioned to run the affairs in each region.

The city cricketing associations will be responsible for the hiring of operational staff, staging of U-13, U-16, U-19 and school cricket and club-level tournaments which will lead to city cricket team.

Under the revamped system, the proposal says, around 360 new job opportunities will be created in coaching & support staff in regions and city associations.
