A brilliant century from Tahir Gul inspired Airport Gymkhana to a 40-run victory over Hush Puppies in the Super (Over-60) Veterans T20 Cricket Tournament fixture at the TMC Ground.
Batting first, on the back of Tahir's impressive innings, Airport Gymkhana finished with 186 runs on the board for the loss of 4 wickets.
Tahir blasted 117 runs off just 62 deliveries with the aid of nine fours and four sixes.
Hush Puppies, in reply, could only get to 146-3 in their 20 overs, falling short of the target by 40 runs.
Opener Raees Ahmed scoring was the teams ray of sunshine, scoring 59 runs with the help of five boundaries.
The Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) in collaboration with the Sindh Seniors Cricket Welfare Association is organising the four-team event in preparation for the Over-60 World Cup which is to take place in Brisbane from Oct 27 to Nov 11.
Naya Nazimabad and Omar Associates are the other two teams participating in the tournament.
