Montgomery Gymkhana secures first win of Prof. Ejaz Amhed Faruqi Invitation Cricket Tournament

Later named Man-of-the-match, Wahaj struck 68 with the help of seven boundaries as Montgomery Gymkhana reached the target of 185 in 37.4 overs after dismissing Taj Sports for 184 in 36.5 overs.

Taj Sports managed to reach 184 thanks to Amir Afridi who struck 89 runs courtesy of seven fours and three sixes.

The event was inaugurated by former Pakistan captain Moin Khan in a befitting ceremony attended by ex-KCCA president Prof Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi, tournament secretary Jamil Ahmed, former Test stars Tauseef Ahmed, Asif Mujtaba, Jalaluddin,
Azeem Hafeez and Rashid Khan as well ex-internationals Ghulam Ali, Mahmood Hamid, Athar Laiq, former Test umpire Mahboob Shah, Zafar Ahmed, Mohammad Masroor, Mohammad Akram, Jawaid Ahmed Khan and Azam Khan among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Moin complimented the club cricket setup for not only scouting talented players but also grooming many cricketers to serve the nation with distinction. He also praised Prof Faruqi for his magnificent services for the sport in the country besides financing club cricket events in Karachi.
