Haris Rauf on Wednesday became the first Pakistani to take a hat-trick in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) to send his team, Melbourne Stars, top of the BBL table.

Haris Rauf on Wednesday became the first Pakistani to take a hat-trick in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL).

Melbourne Stars' ace, Haris, removed Matthew Gilkes, Callum Ferguson and Daniel Sams on three consecutive delivers of his teams final over to achieve this remarkable feat.

Haris continued his brilliant form in the season, regularly bowling deliveries above 145 kph to cause a lot of problems for the Thunder batsmen. 

With his three wickets in the match, Haris moved to second on the table of most wicket takers in this years BBL with 13, two behind Daniel Sams, despite playing 4 games fewer than him.

Haris' brilliant form in BBL has caused social media to advocate for his selection in the national team as well.

Hailing from Rawalpindi, the right arm fast bowler worked part-time in a shop as a salesman before his talent was discovered by Lahore Qalandars in 2017.
