Army, WAPDA, Punjab and Karachi United secure victories in week 2 of 12th National Women’s Football Championship

Game week 2 of 12th National Women’s Football Championship concluded with Army, WAPDA, Punjab and Karachi United's women's teams securing wins in their respective fixtures.

The group matches of the 12th National Women’s Football Championship continue in full swing.

In the game-week 2 of the ongoing competition, Karachi Kickers Women Football Club (WFC) played against Army while DIYA WFC faced off against Punjab WFC in group A matches.

The group B matches were played between  WAPDA WFC against Gilgit Baltistan WFC while the second game of the day saw Karachi United WFC face off against  JAFA WFC.

In the first match of group A, the defending champions Army showed their might as they registered an 18-0 win against a helpless Karachi Kickers side.

Hajra Khan was rampant as she scored 7 goals in the match. Rameen added 4 while Captain Malika-e-Noor scored 3 goals as well. Alina also netted two times while Aliza and Reshail got on the score-sheet with 1 goal each.

Both the teams were playing in their second matches of the tournament with Army securing their second win while it was a second consecutive loss for Karachi Kickers. 

In another group A match, Punjab secured a 2-0 win against DIYA WFC. Zulfiya and Sara scored a goal apiece in quick succession in the first half to help Punjab win their second match in a row.

In the fixtures of group B, WAPDA WFC hammered Gilgit Baltistan WFC 11-0 to secure their second win on the trot.

Sahar Zaman top scored for WAPDA with 5 goals while Dua managed to score 2. Shanza, Mehnaz and Asma added one goal each while Gilgit also scored an own goal to take the tally to 11.

Karachi United WFC, meanwhile, also secured their second consecutive win of the tournament by overcoming JAFA WFC 4-0 in their encounter.

Soha scored a hat-trick for Karachi United while Nina accounted for the other goal.

After the second round matches, Army sits atop group A with WAPDA sitting atop group B.
