Bahawalpur wins NBP T20 Blind Cricket Trophy 2019

Bahawalpur defeated Peshawar by 7 wickets to clinch (Grade-1) National Bank of Pakistan T-20 Blind Cricket Trophy 2019 for the 3rd time in a row at Dring Cricket Stadium, Bahawalpur.

Bahawalpur clinched (Grade-1) National Bank of Pakistan T-20 Blind Cricket Trophy 2019 for the 3rd time in a row after defeating Peshawar by 7 wickets in the final played at Dring Cricket Stadium, Bahawalpur. 

On a sunny morning, Bahawalpur won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Sanaullah and Haroon Khan opened the innings for Peshawar and provided a brisk start to the visitors making 66 runs in first 6 overs.

Sanaullah was the first to get out after scoring 57 runs off 37 balls. Haroon Khan had to retire hurt after scoring 55 runs.

Peshawar managed to score 197 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.

Shahzaib and Ijaz shared one wicket each for Bahawalpur. 

In reply, Bahawalpur, chased down the target of 198 in 17.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

Moeen Aslam again shone with the bat and scored a sparkling and unbeaten 126 off 56 balls courtesy of 11 fours and 4 sixes.

Rahid Ullah and Mohsin Khan managed to claim one wicket each for Peshawar.

Moeen Aslam was deservedly awarded the man of the match honors.

This was Bahawalpur's third Grade-1 trophy in a row.

Mr. Shozeb Saeed, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur, Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, Mr. Dawood Mehmood Malik Regional Chief National Bank of Pakistan were the guests and distributed prizes amongst the players.

Player of the Tournament:

B1: Tehseen (AJK)
B2: Matiullah Khan (Lahore)
B3: Iftikhar Tiger (Okara)

Best Wicket Keeper of the tournament went to Muhammad Waseem of Peshawar.

Eight (8) teams namely Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Okara, Gujranwala, AJK, Peshawar and Bahawalpur participated in the event that was played from 25th to 29th December at Bahawalpur.

Islamabad, AJK, Peshawar and Bahawalpur were the 4 semifinalists.

While the Final was played between Peshawar and Bahawalpur where Bahawalpur came out on top.
