Chinese coaches to train Olympian Mehboob, Arshad, Naeem, Uzair, Samiullah for two months
Olympian Mehboob Ali, Mohammad Naeem, Uzair-ur-Rehman and Samiullah will undergo two-month training in Shanghai.
Four athletes from Pakistan are off to China to undergo two-month training in Shanghai. The athletes include Olympians Mehboob Ali, Mohammad Naeem, Uzair-ur-Rehman and Samiullah.
Javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem will join them on January 10.
No coach is accompanying the athletes. The president of Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) Major General (retd) Mohammad Akram Sahi said that China had told him to send athletes only for coaching.
Chinese coaches will train the Pakistani athletes who all won medals in the 13th South Asian Games in Nepal recently.
This is a rare occasion that the AFP has managed a two-month long training tour for the athletes who have been pulling off good results in international circuit.
The tour will help Arshad more as he will prepare for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Arshad created ripples in the athletics world with a world-level 86.29m throw in South Asian Games which also put him in Olympics.
